NewVision Therapy – What It Can Do

I learn by going where I have to go
~Theodore Roethke

At the core of NewVision Therapy, and its potential to improve vision and maintain eye sight, is an eye acupuncture method or treatment known as AcuNova, which was discovered by Dr. John Boel, who is based in Denmark and is the founder of Acupuncture University located in Copenhagen.

AcuNova is a proven method of acupuncture that is not associated with or related to other established or traditional approaches or methods. It is different from traditional Chinese medicine or acupuncture which concentrates on the body’s meridians or “life-energy” paths and channels to help open or clear a “block” and stimulate them to move energy through the body so that natural healing can occur.

In contrast, AcuNova acupuncture focuses on the body’s nervous system and treatments concentrate on specific points in or around joints in hands, fingers, feet, and toes, as well as the knees and eyebrows.

Like traditional Chinese methods, AcuNova acupuncture also helps to activate or restart the body’s natural ability to heal itself, which sometimes can be hindered or hampered by hereditary factors, trauma, viruses, bacteria, injury or even nutritional deficiencies.

NewVision Therapy also integrates the key elements of AcuVision eye acupuncture methods developed by Dr. Andy Rosenfarb, who is founder and clinical director of Acupuncture Health Associates in Westfield, NJ. Considered by many to be a world-renowned expert in the field of Chinese Medical Ophthalmology, Dr. Rosenfarb earned his Master’s in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and his Doctor of Naturopathy from Canyon College.

With AcuNova and AcuVision as the foundation of its approach to helping patients with diminished or deteriorating vision caused by an eye condition or disorder, such as age-related macular degeneration, the NewVision Therapy, offered at the Desneige Acupuncture and Allergy Center, involves the placement of ultra-thin, highly flexible acupuncture needles into specific areas of or points in the body to increase or enhance blood flow and circulation to the eye.

The needles used in NewVision Therapy (almost as thin as a strand of hair) are specifically designed and manufactured for acupuncture treatments and are the same ones that are used in treatments and therapies at the center for many other health and medical problems (See CONDITIONS TREATED).

No matter where they are placed in the body, the acupuncture needles allow for the shallow (for most patients, nearly painless) insertion just below the surface of the skin.

While most patients say that they feel virtually no sensation during an acupuncture treatment, some compare it to the feeling of less than or as slight as a mosquito bite, for example.

For many people, NewVision Therapy acupuncture offers the possibility of enhanced vision or sight, as well as improvement in their acute and chronic medical conditions … with no surgery, no medication and no side-effects.

And, for most people, possible enhancement or improvement in their condition after they’ve been informed or advised by a physician or other health care specialist previously that “You must learn to live with that” or “There’s nothing else we can do for you.”
